Temps?
Sorry was installing not looking on here,
These temps using HW Info are idle temps but will take some temps when downloading a 90gb game file to see if it gets hot:
I am a little concerned about the chipset temps being high when idle though ? But I have turned the 230mm fan to summer cooling as was on winter setting
Here is the report after downloading 90gb then doing a crystal disk report & as I expected under 40c :
going to restart pc, defrag game files, then play the game for a while for the fresh data settings...

Thanks, I dont think that's to bad for Chipset temps from what I have read up on X570. I wouldnt worry unles they got up in the 80s
I just use what's built into my motherboard as the areas where the SSD's fit have heat-shielded covers.
Like, Steve I've got two NVMe drives in my system here's there temps....
With that unless the drive goes into the high 70's I wouldn't worry about speed throttling as NVME's are designed for high heat. That said, adequate PC case cooling helps more than wasting money on the fear mongering sale of "NVME heatshields" It also depends on location of drive. If possible put the drive in a slot below the GPU, not directly under it.
Temps recorded after a bit of gaming as I expected nothing over 55c, fortunatley m.2 slot one is at the back side of the gpu & the cpu fan is there,so alot of air would go across the m.2.
The second slot is under the front of the gpu but that will become the file/games data drive in a few months & will have same type/make heatsink on it.
Having the extra little cost of heatsinks is the best thing to do for double sided chipsets as temps are then equal all over the chips for a stable performance & will check temps every 3 months or so for signs of overheating but unlikely to fail, I am just looking forward to seeing the even faster m.2 appear in the years to come.
PCi 4.0 demands heatsinks or you will get premature failure as reported on shopping web site reviews.
Once I get 2 Sabrents it might be time to do a drive to drive transfer of data to see those GB/S working, in fact since my first crystal disk test the second one on here has gone up in the read speed!

My boards m.2 cover isn't all that great on my 970 evo
Temp 1-61c & temp 2-69c just running crystal disk mark
No room for any real heatsink and mine is a blower style with a little fan on it
I got a pci-e card and put my heatsink on it and temp 1-45c & temp 2-60c not optimized since the pwm fan on it doesn't since the m.2 temperature so it's set on manual little curve I made up recently.
My x299 has one too and has a m.2 fan port and runs a lot cooler don't think either temp went over 50c

No its a thin plate of aluminium which connects to the top piece which makes it the same thermal heatsinking properties.
Top heatsink it single sided.

Bottom one is double sided.
if you look at my motherboard picture the m.2 socket is sat higher to allow the really big heatsinks for both sides like when using the gigabyte m.2 for instance or check the Sabrent Rocket heatsink as they use heatpipes.
