    Intel i7 7700k temperature

I never notice a slow down but when i stress test my cpu on 2-3 cores goes to 100 degree and hovers around 90-100 or 70-85 degree this was before i reapplied my thermal paste and cleaned the heat-sink also my computer i replied the thermal paste and still the intel i7700k running hot but it seems that my gpu runs cool at max . Any idea's also my fan set up is i have 3 exhaust fans two at top one at back and two intake fans at the front

Also never overclocked my gigabyte does not support it.

    What stress test program?
What CPU Cooler are you using?

Well Prime95 is a killer of stress program that will run your CPU temps high. Add that a "hyper tx3 evo" is not really the idea heatsink to be running Prime95 on; and even worse if only one fan is on it

Like everything else it depends on what you want to do and what you're willing to spend. That said, the Noctua NH-D15 is a cooler designed to handle high heat from the likes of i7 processors to even the i9-9900K. However it's also $90 bucks! It does however come with two fans.

I my self don't overclock, but even something like the Corsair H115i Pro AIO closed loop water cooler (which I'm using on my i9-9900K) would be better than that hyper tx3 evo. That though would run you $139 for the XT (updated version). The version I have (older version) is running at 159 (not worth it over the XT).

I'm sure those the overclockers here would have better suggestions. Also, you might consider your use of Prime95, or at least make sure you understand how to run it. A lot of users are moving away from it or aren't running it for long hours like they use to advertise back in the day.

I'll ask some of the other members like @Dude or @Cliff S to look in on this and provide some better suggestions

    Peace:)

Delid that chip first off. If you prefer air over an AIO, the DH 15 is great, I have it on my 7700K. If you would rather spend a little less look at this one

That's all well and dandy; but if they don't know how or don't want to take that chance than what. Anyway I think that's the extreme end.

What about upgrading to a better CPU cooler and just sticking within in range of what the chip can do without being delided? What about something less intensive than Prime95?
