Overclocking 3900X Confusion

On the actual box it states 4.6GHz Max Boost / 3.8GHz Base.
I have tinkered a little and only have gotten a stable 4.4GHz
Haven't touched the voltage or anything else.
On the MSI X570 Gaming Edge Wifi board the CPU ratio will turn red if I go above 44.00MHz and after a stress test it crashes.

It's on a Corsair H150i Pro so I should have no issues with a decent overclock, right?
Why can't I go to 4.6 and stay there? My actual goal is 4.8GHz.

Its just a number,
You cant be chasing or going for figures, as the next generation chip to that will waste it at a far lower clock.
Dont overclock and leave her stock , maybe look at improving other slower components. Let her breathe

Let me generalize this for you any CPU that has Multi cores beyond 6 -8 it's hard to lock them all in on high freq
I have a 6950x i can get all cores on 4.4 4.5 Ghz but when you get there the performance is about the same just because you put a higher clock on it doesn't always mean better results

Bottom line 10 or more higher cores needs better cooling and stable VRMS any thing less and you're looking for a fire
Lock your oc in at 4.3 and leave the hot core at the 4.6

You have to take into mind these chips aren't built for clocking high that is why they are core rich that is pretty much the feature of the chip it has enough cores that you don't really need to do that

Don't get starstruck by Speed you can't even tell 5.2 Ghz from 4.4 Ghz just saying only Benchmarks show you and you're not going to be running those every time to see the speed which is pointless lol
