Interesting, which DAC do you have?
It's nothing to do with the on-board soundcard. I've been using this Teac UD-503 for the last 4 years...

Attached is my Sennheiser HD 700 headphones, but the DAC also runs my powered Audioengine A5+ speakers and S8 sub.

I googled ESS Sabre and got all kinds of results
The ESS Sabre listed in my specs is what's listed for the onboard soundcard. Here's my motherboard specs, scroll down to Hi-Fi Audio System.

Might have been in the same boat that I was in. I generally like to stay with a few select brands when it comes to SSD's. Really wish Samsung, WD and Intel would get a PCIe 4 version of their drives out. I got a great deal on my WD Black drives for my son's computer and they were still version 3, but I figured he benefitted more by having 2x the capacity, rather than having a bit extra speed.

DAC's can vary in price depending on features, build, and options. I paid $900 (was $1000) for mine new. It also has a built in headphone amp, and can accept various input sources besides just USB. It also play DSD & Hi-Res audio natively.

It's smaller than it looks being only 11.5 inches long, 9 inches deep, and less than 3.5 inches tall. I love it. The only thing it doesn't do it multi-channel surround but that's fine by me.

Just chasing a new AiO cooler, this CM Nepton 140XL is over 5 years old and looks like it's getting tired, average temps are about 10c higher than used to be. If CM was still making it, I would grab a new one but now I'm in a pickle as there are many in that range. Nominally, 3700x is 65W TDP but obviously goes higher than that when pushed, For best auto boost operation it needs to stay at or below 62-65c and now it's dropping at least 100MHz at 71c+.
I had my hart set for Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 but can't find it anywhere around here. Now researching 403 Forbidden which is also 140mm single radiator.

I lucked out when I got the Arctic 240, thought about stepping up to the 280 or 360 but out of stock. The 240 is really good, I run the fans 100% and it is quiet

Yeah, they seem to have disappeared from market, fan on pump blowing on VRM is really nice touch. Also had great price. Don't want to pay 150-200 Euro on the cooler. That NZXT I'm looking at is less than 100€ around here.
