The more AMD users the better!

I don't know; I just now XMP was never problematic for me on any of my five Gigabyte boards (my X58 board is XMP capable).

Edit: (because I keep forgetting there are more AMD board users now) - If we're talking "AMD" boards and XMP memory issues, well that's something different as I'm hearing all sorts of stories about memory issues and AMD boards, including admittedly, XMP problems.

Anyway what I thought I knew (from an Intel perspective) is being severely challenged with all the AMD systems out now

I shall amend my posts by saying "from an Intel perspective".
Newest Ryzen 2000 and 3000 can handle RAM in excess of 4000MHz, Only problem can be with MB and specifically BIOS which has been perfected in latest MBs. They all read XMP just fine but may not exactly conform to it, My MB is an example of that. It sets values even better than XMP dictates.
The thing is, Ryzen needs faster and better RAM and settings to get everything out of it.

That's fair. And for clarity, I'm not arguing which is the better XMP handler; I'm simply saying I recognizing my experiences with Intel my not translate to those on AMD systems.

    Thanks.

Yeah, memory tweaking are two completely different beasts on Intel vs AMD platforms. Results are very different and what tweaks matters are very different. RAM compatibility and stability issues has been ironed out a long time ago on AMD platforms.

I was referring to Intel too.

One my HW info post a while back. It seems it was the AMD power plan, I switched to Windows balanced and it shows cores dropping.

What did you set Minimum processor %, I have it set to 5% and some cores drop under 2GHz which RM probably considers as minimum and marks them as in Sleep mode.

5% just like you. Didn't seem to take effect
