How Good...or Bad...is Ampere? - YouTube
The 1080Ti was one of the best upgrades of all times regarding performance gain, cost per performance and performance per watt. 2080Ti and 3090 are THE worst ever. 2080Ti only bad because of the ridiculous pricing. If 2080Ti had been half price, the upgrade value would have been somewhat better.
Don't let the excitement about AMD finally getting somewhere and becoming relevant fool your judgement. For the past 2-3 years, only AMD has done big leaps forward. Intel has done nothing and NVidia is a disappointment after 1080Ti
Example what impressive stuff AMD has done:
I own a Ryzen 7 2700U Pro CPU, the new Ryzen 7 4750U Pro is ~4x as powerful yet it can run 50% longer on same battery even beating Intel, which has been quite impressive for years.
Is this me chilling, or is this a fact? You tell me...
I like to benchmark and OC, and AMD's BIOS/AEGESA is not too good to get high clocks. For memory OCing ok, but baseclock and multiplier OCing, actually affects the boost, if like me, you like to OC and use Balanced power mode, so the CPU uses only what it needs, in a bad way on the newer Ryzen CPUs.
