NVMe Raid 0 vs. Radeon RX580 Crossfire cards
Hi! I have ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Hero (WiFi) motherboard. It has 2 M.2 NVMe slots. M.2_1 slot is PCIE X4 direct to the CPU and does not share any PCIE lanes with the PCIE slots. I have 2 RX580's in crossfire, each card runs at PCIE x8.
Now, the M.2_2 slot will steal 4 PCIE lanes from the PCIE_2 slot. So here is my question:
Which will give me better performance? A single NVMe drive in M.2_2 slot at PCIE x4, and two RX580's both at PCIE x8 OR 2 NVMe SSDs in RAID 0 both at PCIE x4 and then one RX580 GPU at PCIE x8 and one RX580 GPU at x4? I do play graphically intensive games such as Far Cry 5 and New Dawn, Train Simulator and Flight Simulator.
Thanks!
John
