Agree with everybody here. Get a good power supply, and get a fully modular power supply.

I go with Seasonic, Corsair or EVGA.

Fully modular is kinda useless unless you need custom cables, 24pin has to be used anyway and I don't like another set of contacts which can go wrong and make everything bulkier.

I find them rather useful as they don't clutter up the place with "useless cables" not in use. And the ability to use custom cables is a huge plus. Also replacing a damaged / cut cable(s) is cheaper than replacing the PS.

But I guess one's useless is another's useful

Fully modular is certainly not useless, particularly for small ITX cases where you need every available space. Besides it generally looks nicer not having un-used cables everywhere.

Modular 24 pin actually takes more space because of it's plug but yes can make installation somewhat easier.

I don't see how it takes up more space.

Still don't see it. All my PSUs since I've been building my own PCs have been modular.

The plugs are the same. And the EVGA isn't much bigger than the Antec. And the EVGA is a 1000watt unit!

And BTW EVGA and others now make smaller fully modular units.

Ad a 24 pin plug to that EVGA and see how longer it is than that Antec, On my Raidmax it ads another 2 -2.5" to PSU's length, Good thing I have giant Raidmax case.
