Hmmm, now I've dug it out I've remembered more of its history. I had upgraded it a few times, first with another (non-IBM) 386 m/board, then adding a 3.5" floppy to its existing 5.25" one, and replacing the HDD with an IDE one. Finally the m/board and hard drive were transplanted into a new case.
Inveterate hoarder that I am, I still have all the original parts stored away safely, but restoring it to original condition will take a while - something for the long winter evenings, I think. It's got to be done though, it's a classic icon of PC history.
First though, I have to work out which of my two Seagate MFM drives it had, the ST-4026 or the ST-4038. I'll have to match the date codes against that of the PC case.
