    Morin' Mike:)

I am really jealous of your 1080Ti

It seems with my Zotac, I only got what I paid for, but very little core clock head room(the mem clock is good though).
But if I set a mild OC and let Boost do it's thing, I have no right to complain though.
Just a test with GPU-Z's renderer to show you what I mean:
    Attachment 189523

Even when the card is cool enough, it crashes when I push core clock a tick higher
I'm not familiar with your MSI ....never use it. My voltage when oc'n is @1082 thou. This card is 2 years old too, my new card, which is same model, can't handle overclocking as good as this old girl.
It just the luck of the draw, as these cards are all different these days....have their own personality it seems. :)

Zotac has a very beefy cooler for her GPU and VRAM but a very mediocre VRM cooler. Keep the POwer delivery system cool enough and give the GPU max power and let GPU Boost 3.0 take care of the rest. When you reach an unstable core clock with all maxed out them let back on the VRAM a little.

Only time you increase the core say in my case from +25 to +37 to achieve a 2100MHz clock is when the temps raise and GPU Boost drops the core.

Thanks Andrew, I just think it takes 3 components for a good Benchmarking rig. You need a Good CPU, GPU and last, a good Monitor, as even the monitor can come into play in some cases. So you need all 3 working together.

    Quick test:

    Heaven Benchmark-cusith-oc-2100.jpg

    Running heaven:

    Heaven Benchmark-cusith-oc-2.jpg

If I keep the Temp under 59oC then CuSith runs OK at 2100:

    Heaven Benchmark-oc-1.jpg

If the temp jump over 59oC then she drops to 2088 and will never climb up to 2100 until temps drop to around 50oC

    GPU Boost at it's best.

The trick is knowing what your card can do in a given benchmark and tweaking it to best suite and keep those temp as low as you can. GPU Boost will screw you each and every time.
