If you want the lights off in sleep mode just turn the brightness slider all the way off for the RAM in the settings... They're a hardware lighting component. You could change the lighting to software control and see what that does in sleep mode but software control of the RAM lighting still has CPU usage issues. That will be addressed in a future iCUE release.

Doesn't iCUE have something like AURA does?

Gigabyte hasn't released the SDK files to Corsair for integration with iCUE. Meaning iCUE doesn't work with RGB fusion like it can with Aura Sync. just finished perusing the Corsair forums on this

I read something about the high RAM usage but supposedly this new release addressed that.

As for turning the lights off in sleep mode, I think there's a fix, but I hadn't looked too hard. With that I'll go through the Corsair forums again.

Hi Cliff,

Not that I'm aware of, never has been. However Corsair lighting devices stop when the computer is put to sleep or shutdown. Only the new Corsair RGB Ram stays lit at sleep and shutdown like Asus Aura.

Most of Corsair's lighting devices have an on-board hardware lighting profile, meaning when the iCUE software and service is closed off or during boot/restart you will see the hardware profile.

I think an upcoming release (newer than 3.24) is supposed to be even better. Full software control of the RGB Dominators with very little CPU overhead.

Thanks. I'll have to start hanging out at the Corsair forums now to see how iCUE moves along since it's now controlling my RAM's LED's. Never paid it much thought when it was just lighting my H115i.

Anyway I'm still a registered member there though I've not posted there in ages (I did make a post today in answering a post). Anyway it gave me a good laugh to see my old systems specs still listed from when I had my i7-930 build.

For you youngins (my word) that's Intel's first gen i7 processors

When building my current PC I was so excited about all the RGB "goodness", until eventually I found all the caveats.

• RGB RAM where the RGB is powered from the slot and not an extra cable(messy but better) does not OC as good as "normal" RAM because of the power draw and RGB software signals to the RAM from the software.
• With ROG(my motherboard at least) when I turn of RGB in the BIOS, my Trident Z RGB ram will turn off for a bit, but then turn back on, even though the motherboard RGB is off, sporting the unicorn puke look, and that is a pain when benching on the edge or stability.
• For all my RGB components(MB, RAM, AIO/CLC, Graphics card, mouse) I need different software, instead of just using AURA for all.

In years to come, when I decide to upgrade, it's blackout all the way.(even if I need to unplug the RGB cable in the graphics card.

To be honest, when I bought my RGB RAM modules, it was more about the 3600MHz speed @C16 and B-die capability than RGB lights. I honestly looked high and low for the regular non-RGB Dominator Platinum modules like the ones I had here, but I guess Corsair is pushing LED everything to a whole new limit so... Not to say I don't like these modules, but RGB wan't the priority.

As for losing anything due to "extra" voltage going to the RGB lights, I don't put much stock in that; but I also don't overclock enough for it to be a factor (if indeed that's true).

It's not about losing voltage, it's about the fluctuations in voltage(voltage stability).
