Technically it's fine.. feeding the GPU and AIO..

I'm partial to vertical mounts .. so gonna see what my case looks like - not a necessity as I do ITX ... but WTH

I do have a vertical mount but then I added 2 bottom fans so can't use it now.

You need a strong one as the cheap weak ones just don't really work very well. I would have perhaps chosen something like these:

What's the concern about acrylic?

I think you will be fine on the acrylic since it's 5mm. I would loosen your main screws, hold the card up slightly then tighten the bracket to hold it up and then re-tighten your main screws. That should put less stress on the bracket.

Sometimes installing the bracket with the case laying down can be easier. Can be a bit fiddly upright.

It along with my HB Bridge was my tactic for two 1080's at the time and it worked really good.
