Yeah I replaced the included fans with some heavy duty straight from china mining fans. Even speed fan can't get them lower than 2500 rpm. There's literally no software that can calm these things down any lower. It really doesn't bother me, it's kind of like sleeping with a box fan in the room which my fiance' loves.

Vendor software is crap .. you need to control h/w from bios.

The pump and fans both look to be off the sata plug and the only mobo header used is for the tach, fans are in icue. So so if it's mostly pasthrough then it's probably okay at 2500rpm but I would keep it mostly around there and not higher.
Owning a few Corsair AIO units and using iCUE, if the fans show up in iCUE they are hooked up to the AIO’s pump housing. And if that’s the case they will eventually burn out the unit from too much of a power draw.

The main purpose of the SATA power plug is to power the pump and fans connected to the pump. The "tach" cable is used to send tach info on pump speed. Here's the Corsair H150i Pro's instructions (opens as PDF).

If the OP is saying they can see the fans in iCUE, they're connected to the pump (or a Corsair fan commander) which would be connected to the motherboard via USB cable. The USB cable sends and receives information, as well as controls any iCUE/Link compatible Corsair connected devices. The iCUE software will not read any fans not connected to a Corsair device.

Bottom line is if the OP is seeing the fans in iCUE they're either connected to the pump or a fan commander. Either way that's too much of a power draw on either of those units.

    My two cents.

It's been running fine for 6 months. No problems what so ever, If it fails it's fine. I can get another one. I'm surprised it's even working now with all the "NO DON'T DO THAT!" Comments as I bought it refurbished.

Add a few more and you will have to register with the FAA I have 11 fans that sound like an AC unit when they are all at 2000.

5 of them, referring to the RGB UpHere 140mm fans, I don't consider to be doing a whole lot of work. They look good IMO but they don't feel as if they're pulling/pushing much air. They were $40 Wish.com and I really like the look for the price.

    LOL - everyone has jokes

Anyway, the highest rated speed for any of my system fans is 1600 RPM for Corsair's 140mm fans - one is the rear case fan, the other two are for the AIO radiator. Those are kept below 1000 RPM no matter the load.

Since I don't overclock, my ambient room temps year round average 26 Celsius, and I'm about quietness, this is perfect for me. BTW I've only got 3 system fans in my system - two front 200mm (running at 400RPM) and the rear 140mm Corsair fan (990ish). See system specs for PC images
