So the problem wasn't fixed. I wouldn't mark it solved if it was my post. I have the exact same problem with my Asus motherboard and was hoping you found a fix for it. Other than my two memory chips only running in single channel mode the desktop runs fine.

I didn't check the CPU for bent pins. The computer does work and I didn't want to take a chance of breaking something. I wouldn't have known about this problem if I hadn't tried to install more memory.
