This is the first time I’ve come across this on scan.co.uk on my basket it shows - AMD Ryzen 9 3900X OEM/Tray
Does this mean it’s an OEM CPU and the components around it EG (Motherboard, Memory etc) won’t be able to upgrade once installed for the first time?
It means the CPU was bought wholesale, and wont come to you in the retail box, and probably doesn't include the fan

Might also mean no amd support if it dies and it only has oem support.
Intel asks if a processor is a boxed processor
If not boom no three year Intel warranty one would have to go through the oem that ordered it
