I bought have the ASUS X470 PRIME X470-PRO, I really like that MB. I bought it at newegg as the combo deal with the Ryzen 7 was to sweet to pass up. The memory is G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 as it was also on sale. Was looking more at price and the RGB looks pretty cool. My MOTHERBOARD 990FXA GAMING with the AMD 8370 went to my 11 year old son. Oh yea, and I keep at least back up drives for him.....

I don't mind having the 1200watt PSU. It makes me feel better so know that I have more than enough power.

I agree, it probably is overkill, but I'd rather have more than enough, than not enough. . lol

I'm the same more than enough than not enough as I allow for upgrades after as well. What would happen if your Power Supply is not powerful enough? Turn off and reboot or not even turn on?

Either or both, the part that takes most power is usually GPU, main thing to watch with PSU power is Amperage on 12v PCIe branch to supply power to GPU. Just having PSU with a lot off Watts, doesn't mean there will be enough power for GPU too. Except for several good PSU manufacturers, don't rely on declared power, always ad at least 25-33% to estimated full power consumption of the system.
