    Path to a Noctua DH15

So the pad arrived yesterday, so I decided to put it on after work. I glanced at my temps and noticed the cpu was idling high at 40, it's normally 30ish this time of year. Put the pad on same thing, looked and nothing was running to peg the CPU. Watched for an hour and now it rose to 60s. Hmm, I thought, must not have seated the cooler right. Reseated it going back to paste same thing. Set the cpu to 3 ghz in the BIOS and turned it of for the night. This morning its idling in the 70s.

Is the pump on my AIO going out? Its hooked to the cpu fan header, and HW monitor shows its running full speed

Wanted to ask here before I order another cooler, in case I missed something simple you guys could point out

Any special controls or plugs with that cooler ? Ordinary AIOs need pump to run full speed and radiator fans to be controlled by CPU temps. If it's hooked to CPU_Fan, what are fans connected to ?

Pump is hooked to CPU header, fans are connected to the fan controller in my case. I have them both cranked, I always run the pump full speed. it doesnt have any software etc, that's why I got this AIO. Its the Lepa Aqua 240.

Yeah, OK as long as you have everything up to full speed than I guess the pump must be kaput. I don't know if you are familiar with those pumps but it's motor is not directly connected to pump impeller but thru magnetic coupling so motor can turn but impeller still might not.

    Hi,
Crappy timing but only had a 1 year warranty so I guess anything past that was a bonus

Hell even the corsair 110 gt only live 30 months but 5 year warranty so it made no difference.
Guess you can't fit a 280mm rad in your case on the front ?

Yeah, Ive had it like 2 years. I got it at frys for $80. I've been wanting to go to a noctua anyway. My case can only take a 240 rad

    Hi,
I like the be quiet dark rock pro 4 personally but the noctua has higher rpm fans I'm sure
AIO's never go out at a good or explainable time they just stop working
Sure the thermal pad work okay.

Think amazon has prime day in couple weeks too to add insult to injury July 15-16th I believe if you are a prime member I'm not

My Cooler Master Nepton 140XL is already in it's 5th year but still goes strong. Only thing that broke was bearing in one fan and they sent me 2 in lieu of 5 year warranty.
