From your posts it seems that you are not located here in the States. Sorry if mistaken. We have a saying that "Stuff" happens. I've appreciated your input and insight!
I'm here in Serbia, very poor market for IT, have to order most parts over internet because brick and mortar stores handling computer parts keep very little in stock. There's only couple of big importers so competition is minimal. Unlike in the west, stores are working only to the extent of low they are obliged to conform to and do little above that.
There's law that obliges stores to give minimum 2 year warranty on all electronic equipment and if you order online they must accept things back, no questions asked in first 14 days but not for items bought in the store. Needless to say most give only that much and some abuse even those consumer rights. This is Balkan, "Customer is always right" never existed. I was used to Canada so this was quite a shock when I returned home.

Yes, less than ideal.......... Around me, we have also lost our brick and mortar stores to online giants. Some Large retailers keep some stuff, but no staff that is very familiar or available (IMHO).
    Good Luck!!!!!
