    Thermal paste

I've had the i9 7900x for about a year and it looks like the thermal paste is beginning to wear on one of the cores. Consistently noticing 1-2 of the cores temps rising hotter than the rest. Can anyone recommend the best thermal paste they've had experience with? I'd prefer to def not de-lid or use liquid metal. I've heard both are not the easiest to perform and i do not trust my gorilla sized hands to perform such a tideous task. It's bad enough doing this lol.

Thermal Grizzly and Noctua get good results, and a few others too. They are all pretty close. Delidding is a very good option to help with temps, check out siliconelottery...they do it for you

Indeed, I was hesitant to do it myself. I was totally happy that I had them do it. Great service and great results! But you still have to apply the grease between your heatsink and CPU

Good to know. I was literally just wondering about that too. I'm assuming not nearly as often. If I don't mind me asking what we the result like? Significant drops?

Delidding is easy with the right tool. Done it a couple of times myself with excellent results! I saw a 25C load drop on an i7 8700k!

Thermal paste wise, I hear Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut is the best. No cure time and works amazing. I got some in the post the other day but not had time to apply it yet.

That choice is up to you. I would, they binned mine for 5.1 but I can get more. I can bench at 5.2 and validate 5.3. Binning was like $20 more but hey, why not
