    Socket 1155 CPU backplate

    Hi,

I'm transferring my motherboard in to a new case. On the old case the CPU heatsink screws went through the motherboard holes into stand offs below. The new case doesn't have stand offs holes for any of the 4 heatsink screws.

Are this type of backplate available? My board uses 6 pin (2x3) headers for fans.

    Thanks!

Based on the MAC address that motherboard probably came from an HP machine. Those 6-pin fan headers are non-standard so the cooling system is likely proprietary to HP and specific to that case.

The mounting holes look like normal Intel dimensions and it looks like there are some standard 4-pin fan headers so a 3rd party cooler (that comes with its own mounting plate) may work. But you'll have to measure the holes to be sure.

    Yeah - ML110 G7.

The mounting holes are 80mm apart to centers. I'm just going to tap some new holes in the MB tray - the current backplate looks like it's fixed on with some form of double sided tape/adhesive.

You mean those white headers? They're actually 6-pin too!

Actually, I'm looking at the Hyper TC3 EVO as a replacement because it's 92mm, which is what the existing CPU fan is, but swap them.

But, does anyone know if the fan can be removed from the snap on bracket of the Hyper?

    Thanks

I have not used the Hyper TX3 EVO specifically but the snap-on bracket looks the same as other Cooler Master coolers, which do let you remove the bracket from the fan.
