    Power supply unit

I have a Lenovo pc with i7-6700 cpu, gtx 1050ti graphics card, 1 hdd, 1 ssd, dvd writer and built in sound chip, wi-fi, Bluetooth and lan and 400 watts psu. I feel that the psu seem to be a bottle neck and want to upgrade my psu. Any recommendation ?

I tend to stick to Corsair, EVGA or Seasonic for power. For that system, I wouldn't try running with less that 600 watts. More likely 750. But that's me.

Generally I look at the video card as the most demanding part power wise. Whether it is or not, the practice has worked for me for years.

Look at what the video card says is minimum, then double it and round off if needed to find a power supply sufficient for your needs with a bit of over head.

The GTX 1050TI says that 300 watts is minimum, therefore I would run at least a 600 watt PSU.

If a GPU doesn't use external power than it uses only up to 75W which PCIe can provide.

A few years ago I got 2 Corsair AXi 1200 die on me in months. I think those were made by Flextronic. I switched to EVGA ever since. In the past Corsair used Seasonic for their top of the line PSU. The "AX" models I think use another manufacturer that seem more reliable. But at $300 USD a pop, I just gave up on them.

Good recommendation, enough for his specs and not real expensive

That minimum is for the whole system, not just the GPU - and that is an over estimate.. What you have is more than adequate. What makes you say you think the power supply is holding you back? Maybe better to spend funds elsewhere.

Thanks everyone for the reply, I went to the shop and find out that my motherboard power supply is 6 pins while the diy power supply is 14 pins, what a disappointment. Is there any 14 pins to 6 pims convertor I can use for my motherboard ?
