AMD build ?

Having never dealt with an AMD CPU/MOBO, I thought I'd give it a try and see what I can learn.

Initial research came up with these components. The mobo has 3 M.2 slots, I like that feature.

Is the Treadripper CPU able to be OC'd, no clue at all about the AMD CPUS.?

Any suggestions appreciated.

You might want to consider the AMD RYZEN 7 2700X or PRO 2700X. It got higher benchmark scores and uses less power. Here is one comment, that I wholeheartedly agree with:

"2700X is faster in games, 1900X is basically identical to 1800X in raw performance (although due to more CCX units it actually can lose against it in tests that need to jump between physical parts of the chip too much). So that's a no brainer, 2700X any day, it should beat it by 10 or so percent at a lower price in games, more if you are playing heavily single threaded titles.

You are not supposed to buy Threadripper chip if your primary aim are video games. You are paying premium for TR4 features - 60 PCI-E lanes, 8 RAM slots, more M.2 NVMe ports etc."

Both the 2700X and 1900X can be overclocked.

I don't play games, I am mainly interested a CPU that produces the best performance for multiple M.2 SSDs. The mobo has 3 M.2 slots and 4 PCIe x 16 slots. Might try to fill them all and see how the drives run, we all need a hobby -

I was under the impression the Threadripper was better for the M.2 and PCIe slot performance.
