New build - no beeps, no video, but some other stuff works

I just finished a new PC build with these components:

    Samsung 970 EVO 250GB - NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD
    Intel Core i7-8700
Antec HCG750 Bronze Power Supply 750 Watts
APEVIA X-QPACK3-CL Micro ATX Cube Gaming/HTPC Case
    Arctic Freezer 12
    Patriot Viper Elite Series DDR4 16GB (2x8GB
ASUS LGA1151 (300 Series) DDR4 HDMI DVI VGA M.2 mATX Motherboard

Everything went together fairly easily. When I power on I get this:

No beep and no video from either DVI or VGA port from neither of 2 different monitors
Case fan runs & lights up
    CPU cooler fan runs
    Power light on case lights
All 3 keyboard lights go on and then off
Router sees the PC when I connect Ethernet cable
External USB HDD lights up and looks like it is connected (I plan to restore Win10 from Macrium backup)

I've tried booting with 0, 1, and 2 RAM sticks and with & without the Samsung SSD - no change in results. In addition, the case power on/off button turns the machine on - but will only turn it off if I hold it for 10 seconds or longer.

I tried putting an old video card into the machine and hooking a monitor up to that. No change in results.

Also, the case's Reset button does not seem to do anything. I tried booting with and without the Reset button connected - no change in results.

I'm thinking the motherboard is somehow wacked, but have no way to tell what the problem might be. The fact that my router sees the machine (it's light blinks) and the RJ45's connector light on the motherboard also blinks tells me that something is working. But no beeps and no video is a real showstopper.

I've looked at and tried a bunch of suggestions from various online postings - none of them had any effect. I'm hoping someone here might have an idea that could identify the problem.

Edit #!: Had online chat with Asus Tech Support. Was told my RAM is not on the approved list for this motherboard. So I'm going to check in to returning it to Amazon and getting replacement RAM.

The problem was a bad motherboard. Returned & replaced by Amazon; system runs like a dream now.
