    New hardware out on the market, and windows(also device manager to show the name and not "generic") needs the names to update through Windows update.

    Nothing for a normal user to worry about.
    It's more for sysadmins in large companies to update and make changes on PC's(, even when the PC is turned off(even BIOS changes), using AMT & vPro.

    Kind of confusing for a normal user. I mean the Asus XI hero download page simply recommends to install it.

    MoKiChU has much more recent SATA drivers... There hasn't been an official SATA driver since mid 2019.

    I'm guessing he gets the generic versions from Win-Raid forums, and then adds the ASUS oem.inf to it.
