Would the firmware posted on rog for z390 also work for a gigabyte board with 9900k?
I had to make a change to the post I made above concerning this, as Mokichu just posted this at ROG to someone else:

The Intel ME firmware consists of 2 parts, one CODE (global) and the other DATA (manufacturer specific). The Intel tool used to flash the Intel ME firmware (FWUpdLcl64.exe) only flashes the CODE part, the DATA portion is not affected and remains as ASUS has configured on the latest flashed BIOS.
So if it is only a firmware update, it might be good, but if it is a BIOS with new firmware, well j΄then it isn't good to try.

I believe the ones Mokichu uploads in the forums are the generic ones, you need yto ask him though if you can use it on your Gigabyte board, PM him is probably best.

    Hi,

ah, well Im not on a business PC so I assume I dont need it.

That's a risky assumption. If you do not protect the IMEI/AMT OS on your chipset anyone knowledgeable can hack into your machine.

    Cheers,

I have found the official motherboard download page drivers to be either old, or even problematic lately, and only use the ones from the forums now.
Example, last night I tried a few times to get Intel Management Engine Interface Driver 1914.12.0.1256 to install, but it kept erroring out

Then I tried to uninstall the current one I had and it would error out on the uninstall

So I said screw it, and forced uninstalled it with Geek Uninstaller, used Ccleaner's reg cleaner, deleted the install folders, rebooted, then used the driver only download from the forums, by right clicking heci.inf, and it installed right off, asking for a reboot

Hey Shawn, has your Formula's OLED display got any burn in yet?
Something to think about with OLED when displaying static images constantly.
