Hey Shawn, what I really like with the ones you get from ROG forums is, you get the driver without the bloat UI, specially when I only need it for my SSDs as I don't build RAIDs.
But also, if for some reason I want to run my M.2 NVMe SSD, using the Intel RAID driver instead of the Samsung driver, I can, also(somewhat a speed difference, only noticeable when running a disk benchmark, and not on daily stuff)

I just don't like using drivers downloaded from a 3rd party source. Call me paranoid.

I call you sensible. I dont trust them either, I centainly wont ever use those driver updaters. Often pick the wrong driver.

Idk about u guys, but these mobos allow u to restore settings saved from a user profile. U just have to save the file to a USB and restore it through a USB.

Do you mean after a BIOS update?

You cannot reuse a prior .CMO file to reset your old settings, from a prior BIOS, on ROG boards.
You can only use it for that BIOS version it was created on.

The save too USB function, is actually only there to give you more room than the (what is it)? 6 or 7 profiles you can save in CMOS.

    Addition to my last post.
A good use for using USB for profiles would be, if I was a competitive OCer, and used my board for 8700K and 9900K or different RAM kits, I could then have dedicated USBs marked for what they are for.

And lastly the XI Apex has the 1005 BIOS now.
That should be all of them.

Yes, u can restore a .CMO file after a bios update. I've been doing it since I bought my board 4-5 updates ago. Worked every time. I would give it a try, I remember my last mobo from Asus (z170) did not allow it, but it's been working on my XI Code.

Prior to update, save your .CMO to a usb, update your board, when the bios returns back in screen, restore that .CMO to the profile manager and then load it. Save and exit. Pretty simple.
