PC Registry Tweaks / Security Overhaul / and startup scripts question

    Hello all,

I'm looking for resources to learn about group policies. Recently my home network was compromised by a hacker and I've become very security oriented ever since. I'm looking for ways to secure my computer using group policies and registry modification. Since that incident I've studied a lot and have discovered the wonders offered by Windows group policy and registry. Of course to many experts on here that's probably common knowledge but I'm just a plain folk who's interested with computers.

I'm trying to figure out how to do the following for my computer:

    - After each session I am seeking to reset the registry kreys / any changes back to default
    - Better manage and increase broadband connection speed by registry tweaks.
    - Better harden my TCP from packet storms, smurf attacks, etc.
    - See open registry keys and dll as programs run.
    - Change md5 hash on Windows 10 system dlls etc.

    Thanks!

Hi, I'm not going to try to answer exactly as asked, but I'll offer some ideas that cover areas of possible interest.

    1. Anti-ransomware
    E.g.
    Ransomware Protection Solution | Cybereason

    2. White-listing (nothing new runs unless approved + multi-engine AV scanning options on-line linked directly)
    SecureAge SecureAplus
Free Cloud Antivirus Application Control for PC | SecureAPlus

This is compatible with conventional AV software.

    3. RollbackRX - free version could be ok
    RollBack Rx Instant Time Machine
    Instant Restore

Restore the system to any snapshot within seconds.
    4. Disk imaging - allows offline images to be stored to you can restore your PC to a previously imaged state even if you need to replace your disk or your PC is unbootable.
    E.g. Macrium Reflect (free)

    5. Use a sandboxed browser. Nothing makes changes to your PC unless you approve it.
