To start the thread properly:
Top Five PC Hardware Launches To Watch Out For In 2019
Forbes: Top Five PC Hardware Launches To Watch Out For In 2019
- AMD 3rd generation Ryzen/Threadripper (Zen 2) processors
- AMD X570 chipset
- AMD Navi graphics cards
- Intel 10nm Sunny Cove Processors
- Nvidia RTX 2060 and GTX 1160
Best wishes for new year Cliff and may CES bring good tidings. Time to reflect on old and plan (save money) for new.
Personally I'm looking forward to Ryzen 3rd gen, my eyes are firmly at R7 3700x although not necessarily with x570 chipset, just can't see any improvements it could bring for me. Also hoping for some great price reductions in SSD field, I could use at least 1TB of a SATA SSD to replace one of my work HDDs, a place where I do most stuff on, like work with ISO and other compressed formats, picture and video compilations etc.
Just listening to Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra annual concert on TV (as I do every year) and thinking about new sound system and maybe even a good sound card.
Happy New Year 2019! Exciting times in the hardware market this year. CES already around the corner. I hope it won't be a disappointment.
The BIOS and motherboard are a joke. The CPU power on the mobo is only a 4pin and I really don't think it's enough for a 1700X. I bought the B450 since I really don't need a X470 chipset and I really loved the ASUS B450 board I just recently put in a R3 2200G build for a client. Now I'm trying to decide on cooling for the new build. Just going to use my existing cooler for now till I decide on a 240MM AIO or one of the new EKWB 240MM custom loop sets. And I do plan to upgrade to Zen2 this coming summer!
