    Hi,
Thanks didn't see anything about or not much about m.2 on x99 bios
But I'll look on x299 and see what it shows
I install the m.2 and still use a sata 2.5" ssd and create a partition on the m.2
Then make a new winpe recovery cd.. and boot to it with the 2.5" ssd removed
Restore system image to the m.2
Had to use 10 iso media and run startup repair otherwise I got inaccessible boot device on startup.

Works good now haven't done x299 yet.
If you are using macrium reflect you can just disconnect your SATA drive and image right to the M.2, no need to partition or activate, it's done automatically.

to wipe/clear your old sata drive, I use an UBUNTU live disk and delete the old disks partitions with GParted

    Hi,
Yep but sometime reflect doesn't see a blank disk so I just create a partition to make sure it does.

I am still thinking of going with 9900k with the Aorus Master z390. Is that still a good choice? Would the KS cpu thats due be worth considering?

If I was going to switch my Z370 for a Z390(I don't need the extras) I would get this board: Z390 AORUS XTREME (rev. 1.0) | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Global

It has probably the best VRMs for all 390 boards. They are overkill so the will never cause throttling.
    Even Buildzoid loved it.
I was thinking about getting it, but Gigabyte doesn't really keep their drivers, microcode and ME firmware up to date like ASUS does.
So I stayed with my Maximus X which overclocks the 9900K like BooYa.

The Master has good VRMS also, one reviewer called it the VRM Master. What advantage does the Xtreme have over the Master?

    @ThrashZone

What CPU are you running on your x299 platform?
Never mind I already found your specs.
You should have 44 + 24 PCIe lanes in total if running a 10-core+ CPU. That is more than enough to have 3 x GPUs @ 16x,16x,8x mode and in addition 2 x M.2 PCIe drives at 4x,4x mode. You should still have 16 lanes free for SATA, USB, LAN, AUDIO etc...

As always, do you need the extras is the question
