Have you EVGA guys noticed anything different with the new version of EVGA PX1? I can never tell what's changed. Plus it seems like my GPU performance is worse. I think I might roll back.

Just ordered a thermal pad. I think it was Polo who showed one a while back. I will report back with results

That stuff should be a life saver if it has good thermal conductivity, no more mess, cleaning and wrong amount of paste.

Because most Intel IHS's have a slight curve to them, I feel Paste is still the much better choice for filling any gaps.

Most of thermal pads are a bit spongy and should conform to slight curvatures.

    Hi,
Pad you wouldn't end up with metal to metal though there would always be some pad there unlike a wet product.

    Hi,
Most see concave/ humps as defects from over clamping pressure and after lapping you can pretty much see the exact size of the cup Intel used too

I don't believe it is the curvature so much - pressure takes care of that - so much as irregular surface imperfections that paste fills in - excess paste squeezed out. You want as much IHS bare-metal to cooler plate bare-metal contact as possible, which paste is good at but for which a pad fails.

Have you tried a pad? I haven't so was curious if it would work.
