I've been having the itch to get that board, as my Maximus X Hero brought me up to 5.656GHz CPU_-Z validation, and let me use UWP apps(any system32 apps was instant, deserved death, no freezing there, just BSOD) on an AIO

But I've been wondering if my chip would make it to an even 5.7GHz(on AIO) with the Aorus Xtreme

With those insane overclocks man I would stick with that board lol. Only benchmark I can pass at 54 is Heaven I believe. My XI mobo has a bad rep but at least I got a proper CPU. You won the silicon lottery apparently.

The X Hero's models had two VRM iterations(different MOSFET manufactures for the phases), the newer version were the better of the two, but you don't get and temperature reading in any software or in the BIOS with these phases.
Obviously no big deal if you have good air flow.

Weird, I know someone who just flashed a vBIOS on their MSI 2080 Ti Sea Hawk...

I finally was able to fix the problem I have had installing HWINFO64 or using the portable version.
since version 6 I hadn't been able to use it because of a "cannot install driver" error.

I later found out it was because of TT RGB Plus was installed on my system, that runs the RGB and lets you control the Thermaltake fans on my AIO, as that program also uses a castrated older version of HWINFO to read the cpu temps:

Anyhow I found out you need to temporarily turn of the Thermaltake program to let the HWINFO installer install the driver, then you can turn TT GB Plus back on.

So @AddRAM if you have the same problem, now you know how to fix it.

Probably needs to be done with each update of HWINFO, but hey, it's only an extra step, no biggie.

I don't "need" HWINFO as I use and prefer Aida64(I can skin the sensor panel), and only really want to look at temps and speeds, but when someone who uses it asks me something, it's easier to have it on hand.
