New release of EVGA Precision X1
    Version 0.4.4.0

    Release: 7/18/2019

Improves RTX 2080 Ti K|NGP|N Support
Adds support for AMD Ryzen CPU temp monitoring
Support for Z10 RGB LCD display
Adds ability to disable splash screen on startup

    EVGA - Software - EVGA Precision X1
PX1 gives a little pop out box about new updates when you open it now and I noticed the new version number yesterday. However I am sticking to version 3.17 as this is the version that the GPU performs best with. Older and newer versions than 3.17 give me worse overclocking and worse FPS.

    Hi,
Transferred a system image of my moms install to a samsung 250gb evo ssd
Makes a lot of difference as expected 1tb hdd to a 250gb ssd she wasn't using more than 50gb's

It was fun getting it on there had to make the image in the os, I usually don't
Cleaned a lot of useless little partitions off it using reflects Create an image of the partitions required to backup and restore windows
No more dell recovery partition but this machine is well out of warranty anyway.
Also dump like three silly 450mb restore partitions too left one blank in front of C but no big deal

    Nice @ThrashZone

I bet the computer feels like new now. Upgrading to SSD makes a huge difference.

I remember when I upgraded my Asus U46SV laptop with an SSD. It felt like an upgrade of several computer generations.

Yeah, Samsung SSDs are generally very predictable. You usually get what is advertised. I've only used PNY, Crucial/Micron and Samsung SSDs in the past. They've all been very reliable. My ThinkPad A485 has an Intel SSD, which seems to be fine too. It is however running in PCIe x2 mode due to limited lanes available in AMD R7 Pro 2700U, but that's fast enough bandwidth for a laptop anyways.

Samsung SSD's are king! I've heard Crucial are the next best choice.

    Not any more:
Gigabyte's next-gen SSD shows the incredible potential of PCIe 4.0

    Hi,
Had bad luck with MX100 on linux it never ran trim I guess and fill the sucker up and died shortly after 256gb boom gone firmware not compatible.
Got a refurbished replacement from crucial yes not new and it still works along with another 256gb and two other 128gb MX series.

Crucial's are usually a little faster reads and write are slower
Where as samsung's are usually balanced read/ writes usually the only differences besides price

But crucial disappeared their forum too so no more evidence laying around for bad experiences like the MX series issue I referred too

I heard that my MB will be able to use PCIe 4, M.2 NVME for faster SSDs. I'm also waiting for prices to drop so I can replace my two remaining HDDs with SSDs. My first plan is to get 1or 2TB m.2 in second slot and get 4 bay 2.5" removable SATA bay instead of today's 2 bay + 3 bay 3.5". Single removable 3.5 bay for backup disks. instead of triple one.
