What CPU are you running on your x299 platform?
Never mind I already found your specs.
You should have 44 + 24 PCIe lanes in total if running a 10-core+ CPU. That is more than enough to have 3 x GPUs @ 16x,16x,8x mode and in addition 2 x M.2 PCIe drives at 4x,4x mode. You should still have 16 lanes free for SATA, USB, LAN, AUDIO etc...
    Hi,
    Thank you very much bud

If I was going to switch my Z370 for a Z390(I don't need the extras) I would get this board: Z390 AORUS XTREME (rev. 1.0) | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Global
As one who has the extreme, I would say if you don't need an RGB fan controller or the OC (overclock) touch panel, you could save some money and go with the Master and still have a great board. You might also pay close attention to features as the Xtreme is more a high end OC board as such may lack certain features the Master has. Example, the Xtreme only has one USB 3 header to connect to the front panel of a case, whereas the Master has two. The Xtreme does NOT have DAC-UP USB ports, whereas the Master does.

And while I love my Xtreme, there are many features I'm not using on this $500+ dollar board - including the OC touch panel, the RGB fan controller. Nor am I seriously overclocking. In that vein, the Master may be the better, cheaper buy. And many are having great overclock success with the Master as seen at overclock.net in this thread - Gigabyte Z390 AORUS Owners Thread.

I was thinking about getting it, but Gigabyte doesn't really keep their drivers, microcode and ME firmware up to date like ASUS does.
While they can be a bit slow at times, they actually do keep their drivers, microcode, BIOS, and ME firmware updated. In fact I just downloaded their latest BIOS (F7) for the board which does include a microcode update.

At the end of the day I could have saved hundreds by not getting caught up in something I'm not fully interested in - benching and overclocking. Just something to think about.

Except for some values like 4K it's not too slow. Is it empty or with OS on it ? NTFS I presume ? Alignment ?

    @ThrashZone

Try increasing the testfile size to 5 or even 10GB. Your drive is too fast for just 1GB of data.

EDIT: According to userbenchmark, your scores are on par with the general public. The advertised speed is way higher than real life performance.

    Hi,
Just sticking with default config for the test

Yes just os C partition 250gb's I believe ntfs yes also mbr
Only difference in m.2's is x99 only has C the x299 install has a 450mb restore or reserve partition in front of C which made using startup repair not needed it booted right to the m.2.

Just weird x99 score was higher at 4.1 then x299's at 4.8
x99 doesn't have any m.2 options either just a single m.2 port I'm using pretty much the same location on x299 under the pci-e slots

Might switch it to the m.2 port nearest to the memory I forget if that one is 1 or 2 ?

    Hi,
Yep they list it as B though
Doubt it would make a difference swapping it :/
Might install the 1tb m.2 and restore a system image to it and see what it does but i don't have a heat sink for it thought it came with one but it's not much of one to use just a single thin plate for one side sort of really thin double stick tape.

I only got two good heat sinks
