AMD's systems are said to be getting more expensive, not less, due to the new tech surrounding the new AMD motherboards. If so, Intel, may wait to see what performance said systems are getting and adjust from there.
Regardless, I for one don't plan on moving to an AMD based system unless performance far exceeds that of Intel based systems. And a couple of frames here and there isn't going to cut it.
    That's me.
    Hi,
So far there is one 9900k maybe 98...k that has any security fix in hardware and it's not a lot seeing Intel is getting eaten up by security holes left and right
Most are like hitting the lottery getting exploited but holes are holes and unless Intel does something drastic to fix hyper threading vulnerabilities not sure what performance is anymore without hyper threading enabled verses amd thread ripper.... HT enabled with not many holes at all
Plus and is doing quite well rendering.

New series fixes some memory flaws making it much better at gaming
Read pci-e lanes is only like 24 though :/

New Update and its not a Beta Version....
    Attachment 237514

    EVGA - Software - EVGA Precision X1
@OldMike65 thanks for that Mike. Hopefully it will work a bit better than the beta ones. The last beta one would freeze up my whole PC quite often when either opening or closing it and often I would have to hard reset the PC!

Yup, same thing has happened to me a few times also....sometimes completely removing all traces of X1, then do a clean install helps too.

    Hi,
Dang I'd keep that one but then again those beast 6950x'x are posted for big bucks even more than 9900x's are showing retail

Think Paul might jump off 9900k for 99..x he has hinted
But no doubt 9900k games a lot better shitload high cache capabilities probably why it games a lot better.
The 8086K is actually plenty but wouldn't mind working on a faster machine

I just haven't felt like i needed a 2080ti they may come down if AMD Navi gets close in performance

Are your 1080 TI SLI still driving your 3440x1440 ROG Swift at high refresh rates? That's still a lot of power but one reason for the 2080 Ti might be games that don't have SLI support. The other reason would be for Ray Tracing and DLSS. That tech can potentially work very well with ultrawide monitors. The 2080 Ti as a single GPU can drive these 3440x1440 monitors at 90-100 FPS on near ultra settings, it's a mighty GPU!!

Just a quick note about DLSS. You get much better quality with same performance gains using upscaling instead of DLSS. Upscaling also removes all the issues with DLSS, like artifacts and object flickering.

How does upscaling grant you more performance? Upscaling usually incurs a performance hit... My understanding is DLSS is a form of AI Anti Aliasing. Some more info: NVIDIA DLSS: Your Questions, Answered

Because, if you have a let's say 1440p display, then you render in 1080p or something in between 1080p and 1440p and upscale to 1440p without any performance loss. There are a lot of videos on this that compares upscaling and DLSS.

    Here's one good article:

    Battlefield V DLSS Tested

EDIT: Oh, and DLSS is not AntiAliasing, far from it, it's just a bi-product of the method used. But the end result is a really blurry image in some cases.

    Hi,
A need for speed I can relate to that
500.us for a 9900k and have change left over for a board is hard to pass on for what 6950x will probably sell for
