In the bios, Advanced menu, CPU configuration, scroll to bottom, CPU Power Management, CPU C-States, Disable.

It's set to Auto.

Correct. "Modern Standby" is the new name for "Connected Standby".

The Z390 chipset is suppose to allow "Modern Standby" support on desktop PCs now. I'm not having much luck currently though.

A 8700K with a Z390?

You might need a 9th gen chip to use the modern standby, or not?

You cannot switch between S3 and Modern Standby by changing a setting in the BIOS. Switching the power model is not supported in Windows without a complete OS re-install.

I asked aboth 9th gen chip because of this;

I wouldn't think the 9th gen CPU would be required. At least I hope not.

I've tested with a clean install, and nothing. If we can find a setting that I didn't already have set, I'll test again with another clean install.
