Think I will stick with Manual mode ...offset increases my temps quite a bit @5.1 using a vcore in offset at 0.045
    Really?
My temps dropped as did the needed voltage.

I guess I am too BIOS stupid, and the Fates help us idiots.
(No seriously, when it comes to ASUS myriad of settings for each component, I am sometimes perplexed that any change I make, and not have to call the fire dept. is pure luck)

You do change a lot more settings than I do Cliff ....tried some of yours....didn't see much of a change.
But using offset I was stable @5.1 but my temps went thru the roof.
This rig runs cooler under manual mode, think Steve even told me that long time ago...

    Hi,
Last I saw on the actual cinebench thread Cliff S has 2300 and some change at 5.3

That a pretty good bump from 8700
I couldn't use the 5.3 as a daily(24/7) oc profile, and I'm trying to create on. Not for benchmarks, but for when I do graphics rendering, and stuff like that, but the system temps remain under 83° during heavy loads, and under 40 idle.

I have been running all my tests with all my filters and front grill panel on, and just regular fan curves.
For real benching I take that stuff off, and crank the fans up to 100%.
So I am satisfied with this 5.2 score, as opposed to if I had my system set up for benching to the next level.

I don't know if Mike is doing it the same way, or just trying to get the higher score

    Hi,
Yeah I don't think you need much of an negative offset
Something like -0.001 and adjust additional turbo

With manual mode my temps are cooler than yours @5.1 I can't go higher and still be 100% stable.

    I always try for a higher score...LoL

    Hi,
Yeah that's sort of the norm lol

Might push a little if it gets cooler and see if I can get 5.0 on x299 and 4.8-4.9 on x99 :)

    Play around some more Mike

My real problem is OCing my memory, it hates and major changes compared to my old Corsair Vengeance Blue 3000's.
If I change from Mode 1 to Mode 2, or DRAM Current Capability from 100% to anything higher, it either won't boot, or the system freezes at first app
And these are simple things, not timings or anything, all they do is allow you to OC your RAM speed higher(only way I found I can do that on these sticks, is using BCLK).

I can oc my memory pretty good, plus Steve showed me some tips. I can even use some of the memory presets for high overclocking of the memory.
