Think I'll play with offset ...you got me curious
I might let you use lower voltages like it did for me.
Remember this new profile is my 24/7, and at 5.2GHz @ 1.312V with idle temps in low to mid 30's, and heavy rendering temps in the low to mid 80's.

For you it might let you squeeze a few hundred more MHz for benchmarking

Well @5.2 its a no go for my chip .....Windows won't even take me to the desktop.....even tried increasing voltage in offset....nope.
5.1 is as high as this chip will go.
I wonder if it's the chip or the Apex?

Well its the Chip .....my Apex is made for overclocking ....period. Best board in the 370 line...
There is a big difference in these 9900K chips. One place has found the specific lot # that can OC higher than the other chips. He found a way to only order these specific lot #'s from whoever he buys them from. Then he sells them for 999.00 for the 5.2 binned chips.

I ask Apex, because for example my Hero is actually the "2 generation", meaning the version where they got rid of VRM temps reading in the BIOS after they made some changes to one of the MOSFETs used I believe(or maybe it was the buck controller?).
Any how this gen Hero has really good rated VRMs, where the fist production run(gen) where not so great.

Mike it doesn't matter what the Apex is built for, it's the components it's made from and what production run, and even in which plant it was made.

Its the SAME for the 9900K !!!!!!!!

If I had your chip on this Apex ....then I could oc to 5.3 most likely....
    5.2 would be easy...

MOSFETs, or Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors, are responsible for the actual amplification and switching of signals and assist in voltage identification when communicating with the CPU. The CPU tells the MOSFET the requested voltage, and the MOSFET uses a series of logic gates to assist in delivering that voltage (from the 12v supply).

Sorry but my board is built better than any other 370 board out there.
Like I keep trying to tell you not all 9900k chips are equal .....your just being stubborn.
