That is pretty good. We usually recommend only having the new drive connected when loading Windows, which this does infer.
Here is the TenForums tutorial. See it recommends you disable Secure boot and Fast Boot in BIOS. It should see your boot media.
As you are using Asus board you really don't have to change boot order, right below it in BIOS will be boot override. This is a one time boot location. You can point to USB of DVD, boot, load windows and when it next boots it will go back to the normal boot order.
