Question about Upgrading my Computer with Current Motherboard

That is pretty good. We usually recommend only having the new drive connected when loading Windows, which this does infer.

Here is the TenForums tutorial. See it recommends you disable Secure boot and Fast Boot in BIOS. It should see your boot media.

As you are using Asus board you really don't have to change boot order, right below it in BIOS will be boot override. This is a one time boot location. You can point to USB of DVD, boot, load windows and when it next boots it will go back to the normal boot order.

Also, quick question: I just opened up my video card (it looks awesome, btw

), and noticed there were no CDs or anything inside. Will it prompt me to install drivers and any programs it needs when I install the card or do I need to go somewhere to find stuff? Is it just drivers I would need to install?

I would expect windows will install the driver for this modern card. Not sure if it will grab all the software like GeForce experience.

Maybe another member could comment.

Always good to have drivers / software on hand.

Once you are up you can check driver version.

If you want to update to what you downloaded I would run DDU first to wipe all old drivers ( and software) and then install package from Nvidia. EVGA may also have links to packages.

Thanks for the help. I got an EVGA Geforce GTX 1070ti. Is it considered Nvidia based if it is from EVGA?

So, I installed my RAM and all of that worked well. Came upon a problem when installing the GTX 1070 ti. Looks like my PCI cables are an 8 pin and a 6 pin, where the card needs two 8 pin connectors. Can I just buy an adapter for that?

The card says it needs 500W from the power supply and I have a 600W power supply, so I am guessing I should be alright there?

Not sure on first question.

I would get a power calculator and see how close you are running to your 600W supply especially if you have any Overclocks on.

You're better off using two vga cables from the power supply not an adapter/ splitter ...
I'm assuming by adapter you mean molex to 8-6 pin vga some gpu's do come with one but is not ideal I believe my evga 980 came with one for a single molex
Can't find one like that but here's one for just 8 pin to molex I suppose you'd need another for 6 pin to molex too

Edit: After tying this out (doing my best at least!) it looks like I would need around 485 W of power, which I should have more than enough of.

Ok, so just to be sure I understand, I would use these adapters instead of the PCI 6 pin to 8 pin adapter? The one you listed would connect to another of the types of cables coming out of my power supply? So I would just get 2 of what you listed, correct? (The card needs 2, 8 pin PCI connections)
