I have used it for years with great success - thanks

Here's something else for you to ponder:

Rather than use virtualization to test applications, use imaging to go back to the pre-test configuration if you don't want to keep the application.

Macrium Reflect would be the typical application to do that. It might take 30 minutes to go back to an earlier state when necessary, but it avoids dealing with virtual machines.

I suppose virtual machines might be the better option if you are using them daily, but for occasional use imaging might be more sensible.

Maybe you already use Macrium or imaging?

Note that I added info on specific power supplies in post 48.

Micro Center said they are getting a figure to upgrade the ADATA SSD and the Cooler Master PSU.

I noted your other thread that had these comments:

"The SSD is ADATA who the sales guy said is not his favorite but felt with a 3 yr warranty I would be know if it will stand up or not.
He could ask about swapping prior to sales. The PSU is Cooler Master and the same thinking applies. I think without complicating things I could get it with the 3 year warranty. What do you think; another PSU and SSD or not?"

You don't mention model numbers, which complicates things.

    Having said that..................

Tentative yes on keeping the ADATA; I suggest you drill Google on ADATA SSDs for reviews. You'll find some complaining no doubt, but you'll find that on any brand.

Tentative no on the 3 year warranty. Salesman might get 30% if he sells it to you. It's a dice roll, but that price for year 2 and year 3 is quite high.

I'd probably live with the Coolermaster with crossed fingers. If you feel a little splurgy, upgrade to Seasonic, particularly if you go with the i5 at 660 rather than the 900 dollar machine.

They might balk at upgrading BEFORE a sale of the sealed box, but they should do whatever you ask AFTER you pay for it and want an interior component changed. You'd need to know if you change the PSU immediately, does it void your warranty on the motherboard, RAM, or any other components--just because you swapped the power supply out?

I will take this into consideration.
I think $ 169 is OK for 3 years of security. Image if something did go wrong as I am not getting top rated parts.
The store is tight down the street.

Don't you get it? No matter how much you pay for hardware, it can fail (Audis and BMWs breakdown as well as Fords and Peugots).

Image backups are for all users!
