8 to 16 gig of Ram HP Beats Laptop ?

( Solved, laptop died , brought a better tower pc. )

I need advice to do this .

    Laptop :
    HP Beats 15 Notebook : G6R14UA#ABA

    OS:Windows 10 Home
    CPU:64-bit OS, x64-based Processor : AMD A8-5545M APU
    with --Motherboard:BaseBoard Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard
    Memory:RAM - 8.00 GB .
Graphics Card(s):-- Radeon (tm) HD Graphics, 1700

I want 16 gigs of ram for now .I have only 130 dollars at the moment. So maybe i can only get one stick for now .
From watching videos, the ram is accessible with a little effort.

But what kind of ram ? DDR3 8 gigs each ? Sodium ? Un-Buffered? How many teeth ?

This is the first time shopping for ram upgrade for a laptop .

    Hi,
Use cpu-z it will show most info on memory and spd sections
You can also get info from Crucial scanner for upgrade options for a single stick

To find your exact memory go to crucial.com

It should give you all the specs. Pay attention to voltage of memory and speed

    http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compat...tion-15-p030nr

The memory Crucial is offering is 1.35V at different speeds. (1866 or 1600MHz)

They want $149.99 for 2 stick pack 16GB.

If you shop around and see a good price watch voltage and speed. Slower memory usually costs less.

See if you are using both slots today. If I'm reading Crucial site correctly you have two 4GB sticks. One in each slot. Swapping one will give you 12GB and it will all operate at the speed of the slowest stick. You can look at your existing memory to see if it is PC3-12800 (1600Mhz) or PC3-14900 (1866Mhz)

When you handle memory touch something that is grounded to remove static charge from body, then stay put and swap. The humid weather doesn't generate all that much static but you still want to be mindful.

Have you been monitoring your memory usage and you've notice that you are regularly using 6GB+ ??

The laptop died before a ram upgrade was attempted. Will sell the ram at a discount .
I purchased a Dell XPS 8930 tower pc as replacement .
