    Hardware profile or VM session

Hi I have a strange request and need some help I use my laptop for DJing but when doing so I have to turn the Wi-Fi off as it interferes with the audio card otherwise however sometimes I want to be able to use the internet to download a song or search for something while playing music but if I turn the Wi-Fi on I will get interference

Therefore what I would like to know is whether it's possible to create a VM session that I can run while my main session is running and within that session have the Wi-Fi on and be able to do whatever I need independently is this possible thank you in advance

I've done some experiments on this and I don't think what you are attempting is possible. The VM will use the host's internet connection so if you disconnect the host from wireless then the VM gets disconnected too.

Is there any way you could use an Ethernet connection as that is a different controller which may not interfere.

    Ah OK thanks for that
Can't see how I can use ethernet
Looks like I may have to physically just tether a phone and use mobile data

Sounds like a plan if you can't cure the interference. I wonder if a USB wireless adapter might work.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. As I need a device to actually download from I'm going to just connect an old s7 edge to the laptop via USB tether and then use mobile data to download what I need onto the phone... And then transfer to the main laptop via MTP.

    Maybe I don't understand.

Can't you download directly to laptop with wireless and the issue was if wireless adapter inside laptop was on it caused interference.

So my using USB dongle and cord you get the wireless radio away from audio card.

Like I said I likely don't understand. Good luck

Yes If the wireless is on it creates audio drop outs within the application (Traktor)
Even if I used a dongle etc I think it would cause issues. Id still need to find a way to then download what I want. So using a phone and it's mobile data is probably the easiest thing to do
