Sometimes it is an issue. I've done two so far, and the only real problem I had on one of them, was the front panel connection header on the MB - it didn't correlate to the front panel connections on the box. So, if that's not a big deal temporarily, it's a good stepping stone for a while.

Since teots has an OEM system from Lenovo, I'm assuming he doesn't "roll his own".
Although not all OEMs are easily upgraded, I've never seen one that didn't have a way to add a graphics card, more RAM or possibly a new PSU. Lenovo may be a quite different animal than my HP 500-056, though, which lent itself quite nicely to upgrade with new power supply, video card and RAM. I brought it up to standard, and I agree it's not the best in the West; however, for what I do, it's adequate.
Before making any hard decisions, I would check on whether a standard PSU upgrade will work in his Lenovo desktop, and if so, I'd consider upgrading the RAM first and later on, when more funds are available, upgrading the PSU to at least 500 and GPU to the 1060.
If the Lenovo won't take a standard PSU, then @teots is limited in what he can do, and Simrick's advice to upgrade the GPU to the 960 is the best way to go for now . . . then, in a few months, maybe he can afford some more RAM and a few months later, maybe more RAM . . .

That phrase has been around since I learned to build my own computers (roll your own) sometime around 1985. It was used in the betas of Vista and Windows 7 too. I missed the Windows 8 beta, when that jerk fired all of the former beta testers and went with whatever . . . not very good results since the "everyday user" was no longer involved in the testing.
1050TI would perhaps be better than a 960 which are a bit rare now and only requires a 300 Watt PSU, it's also slightly better than a 960 as well as requiring less power and being cheaper.
Is it the 960 or 1050ti that require 300watts psu ? I found that the gtx 960 require
400 watts psu and gtx 1050ti require 500 watts psu. My system only has a 400 wtts psu. should I settle down for a gtx 960 gpu or just upgrade the memory ?
