    Building a new PC

    Hi there,
So I'm planning to build a brand new PC, since our family have got pretty much laptops, and you know, laptops' performance aren't as great as desktop ones. I've successfully made a list of PC components, but there's a thing that I'm still considering, and of course, need your help and explainations:

    - A combination of an Intel Cpu and a VGA, or just an AMD cpu with high-quality built in gfx?

PS: I'm a student, I mainly focus on studying, just playing a few games like Asphalt 8 or some sorts...

You`ll have to tell us how much you want to spend, the price of PC parts today is outrageous.

An AMD cpu with on board graphics will be cheaper.

    Here are 2 Intel suggestions.

Maybe the price between $350 - $400 is ok, since I'm not really keen on gaming, plus I just want to focus on my studying.

By the way, someone advised me to buy an Intel Core i3 8100, but I think that the Pentium gold is a much better solution, since it's much cheaper, and that's the thing I'm looking forward to.

    Any ideas?

A Core i3 is like the bottom of the barrel, just about.

So, is Pentium Gold the choice you would like to recommend me? Or should I look for an AMD processor?

With the 8th Gen CPU's, an i3 is not such a bad choice. This is the first time i3's have 4 cores and pretty decent stock speed, all for pretty reasonable prices. The i3 has become the i5.

Here are some entry level complete bundle builds. All you would have to do is assemble it. This should give you an idea of what components you may want to consider and what price point. The only thing you would need is the OS which would be extra.
