I have made the decision to delid my i7 8700k due to high temps.

Interesting vid Cliff but I decided to avoid running it with no cooler lol.

So Corsair approved the RMA and I sent it back to them today. Will keep you all posted on what I get back.

I purchased a cheap air cooler to tide me over an Arctic 33. I am shocked at the results. It has beaten the H110i GT straight away which makes me feel happy regarding the decision to RMA it.

Gaming temps are slightly cooler and Prime95 temps are a good 10C cooler! The delid certainly did it's job but I am really shocked at how low the temps are on an air cooler.

I forgot what a pig air coolers are to mount though!

Hopefully Worf. I sent it via Parcelforce48 to keep costs down so they will receive it Tuesday.

Yeah bulky but air coolers are okay
Since the 110 gt wasn't completely failed probably a good way to go doing the standard rma instead of express
I know I was weary in buying another and hoping for a refund on it :)

Where was the rma address they gave you ?

I ran my 6700K(on a MSI Z170A PC Mate) with just a, Arctic Freezer i11 at a daily 4.9GHz.
Arctic makes great fan heat sinks.

It's been running great with the air cooler but it certainly ruins the overall clean look of the rig. Just got to keep my fingers crossed on the RMA with Corsair now.
