    Hi,
Standard rma is what takes the longest because you send them yours
They process... and send you back another could take 3-4 weeks

Express rma you buy one they ship it and then you return the defective one
    Then Corsair refunds your purchase.
Thanks Thrash. Will they give me this option when they reply to my ticket? I haven't done an RMA like this before.

    Hi,
Yeah just go to manage tickets at corsair.support.com or something like that and you'll see both options express or standard rma
I had issues doing it they blamed browser I used try another... then said they were having site issues blab... lol so yeah it was fun

Even their print label was messed up it only showed my information and not the address to send the defective item too I raised hell

That's a pretty quick turnaround isn't it Worf. Thanks for the info.

So all the stuff for the delid has arrived. I am going to go ahead and do the delid either today or tomorrow as it will be interesting to see the changes in temperature. And it will be all ready to fit the new cooler then for hopefully more temp drops.

I will keep this post updated with how the delid goes.

What are you using to protect the SMD's(surface-mount device) on the PCB, before applying the liquid metal? Nail polish?

I was going to mask them off with masking tape.

When you put the IHS back on, are you going to leave it taped?
When the LM gets warm it might drip on to the tiny SMDs later shorting something.

No, I was only planning on having the tape in place while I apply the liquid metal to prevent any dropping on to them. I wasn't expecting any of the parts to arrive this week so am still researching methods right now.
I am not too sure about the nail polish. Some folks are saying to use liquid electrical tape.
