    Dam, that's pretty unlucky that the only area it spilled over was onto that area! Yeah, you can see the size of the dot I used in the pics I posted earlier in this thread, I assume that was the right amount as it took me quite some time to spread it out over the die but I have no idea what it looks like under the IHS now.
    I think you just need to apply the smallest amount so that you can cover the whole die after spreading it, on the guides I watched they also said to do the same on the IHS. Touch wood all still ok for me.

    Yeah and he seemed to indicate that the CPU survived that spill, very lucky if so. The videos I've watched are 50/50, leaving those contacts bare or using a coating of nail polish. The polish seems like a good precautionary step but I'm not convinced it should be going near a PCB. I will be careful not to over do the liquid metal application.
