See what happens if you disable SVID in BIOS. It allows the CPU to communicate with the VRM on the board and, at least on mine, overrides any BIOS setting you have. It appears to be board specific and doesn't do that on all boards nor all boards of my board model.

    Hi,
I'm usually using adaptive on a "-" voltage for vcore.
    -0.035
    -1.185 on turbo.
Still pretty warm for all core

    Ok guy's all done!

Hopefully the pictures will show exactly what I did. Only pic I forgot to take was of the applied high temp sealant. But it's all done and back together and working.

I will add the temperature results shortly.
    Hi Paul,

Did you get away without having to use liquid electrical tape or nail polish on the four small contacts closest to the die? I am a little worried about liquid metal spilling over to those contacts.. How did you tape the IHS off at the same size as the die?

I didn't use anything on them, I felt they were far enough away to cause concern. Regarding taping the IHS, just by measurements.

Never covered mine either and not had any problems. Just be careful when applying the LM to the die. Floated the IHS also.

Ok I'm thinking of leaving them bare also, to much controversy around using nail polish. So is it a small dot on both the die and IHS?

I don't want to end up like this guy in the video. Clearly too much LM.
