BIOS and DOCP (XPM on some)

I emailed asus about their Prime 350+ MB and the new chips Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz (2 x 8GB) and they told me the reason it was still running on 2133mhz as its the normal speed for the MB. If I wanted to up to 3200mhz I had to activate something known as DOCP on AI page in BIOS, so I did. Saved and exit = reboot.

At reboot I got 2-3 bleeps each time as the pc tried to reboot 2-3 times. Then I got a b/w screen telling me it was going to load in safe mode. I pressed noted F1 key and entered BIOS again and checked setting, still on 3200mhz so left BIOS without saving (it was already saved) and it booted into windows with all access apparent.

I dont pretend to understand much of this and probably never will, so later, I will shut down and see if pc runs 'normally'

While the RAM is rated to run 3200, it may require slight adjustments to the DRAM Voltage and Vccio and System Agent Voltages. That is how it is for Intel, I would wait for some Ryzen users to respond too like @CountMike

Chip is Ryzen quad; see specs. I adjusted DOCP but did not reboot pc until a few mins ago, it opened normally. In the a.m. if I remember, I will open BIOS and see if setting have remained 3200mhz.

dude, so what voltage should I see if DRAM is running on/set to????

with a name like dude, you've got to be a Texican!!

Once upon a time I would not touch BIOS with a 200 mile pole!! Its a lot more user friendly than it was 3000 years ago

DOCP is AMD "speak" for XMP (Intel invention). It should read XMP profile in RAM controller and set it accordingly.
Under DOCP heading you should have another "Memory frequency" with which you can alter the RAM frequency further.

Behavior you described is called "Memory training" and is usual when changing memory settings. To make sure what and how memory is running, you can use CPU-Z CPU-Z | Softwares | CPUID under headings Memory and SPD.

That was just a first time I started setting new BIOS, stupid automatic voltage control on first BIOS version. Now it's staying at ~1.375v @ 3.9GHz and that's only when LLC5 kicks in at full load. Normally voltage stays at about 1.325v. Nothing my cooler can't handle at low '60c.

I have reset BIOS to default and setting returned to auto. Reason being I started getting crashes and screen locks and staggering frames. ASUS I suspect have not been fully explanatory and I began to think I might need to upgrade the MB but decided it would be best to go backwards, so all is reset to 2133mhz. The chips I took out and went to exchange them only to find damn place (box.co.uk) was shut for Easter. Chips back in but running 2133mhz, the pc seems happier. Fallout4 was doing all the above mentioned but now its running smoothly.

CM: on your diagram which is identical to mine, the DDRAM was set under DCOP at 3200mhz; the MB still said 2133mhz. I dont recall voltage, having not touched it. As far as I can recall the CPU is 3200mhz, so two components seems not to tie in with the MB mhz???

This is how it's set up now:
BIOS and DOCP (XPM on some)-bios1.jpg
    And after some more settings:
BIOS and DOCP (XPM on some)-image.png
    Is result.
