Merry Xmas Cliff! And everyone else. Have safe holidays!
Proud to report my 8700K-Maximus X Code-G.Skill4000 DDR4 system is up and running with Win10 x64 on my Samsung 97 Evo 250.
System booted to Windows on first try. So deleted OS on older 840 Pro.
This caused a small Blue Screen issue because the MB decided to boot with legacy drivers and could not see the M.2 NVMe drive.
Solved by BIOS > ADVANCED.. > PCH .. > NVME DRIVERS FIRST.
System running fine now. Peaks at 35C ambient and 64C on AIDA64 Stress Test.
RAM running straight out 4000MHz with XMP enabled from first boot.
Will manage cables and post pics.
Is anyone using default SATA drivers instead of Intel Rapid Storage drivers? Strangely I was asked to remove them as part of troubleshooting.
No, but instead of removing them, to test, just use the updater in device manager and switch over to them:
That way you won't have to reinstall them it they are not the problem.
InformationJust for your information:
If you have your BIOS set to RAID instead of SATA, the IRST drivers inside both BIOS and Windows also, are used for NVMe device controller.
