But it heats up your VRMs a bit more

If you keep iGPU off, they(the iGPU VRMs) help a little in cooling your CPU VRMs at the top of the board through the PCB, giving you a tad bit more OC headroom.

Nope. Quicksync is quick. No time for the vrms to heat up

If you haven't gotten the latest IRST from Intel's download page, ASUS Maximus X's are getting it now(at least the Hero)
